Since 1983, when it first debuted, Mountain Stage with Larry Groce, has been the pinnacle of Live Music performances as heard on Public Radio. The list of Artists that have come through WV to perform on Mountain Stage, has legends and some of the most popular acts of their eras. Performances are held at the WV Cultural Center on the grounds of the WV Capitol Complex. Mountain Stage also travels and visits various sites in locations such as Alaska, Minnesota, and some parts of Canada as well as various venues around the state, such as Morgantown and Lewisberg.
The Show is broadcast each week on over 150 public radio stations. Each episode typically features four or five artists, with each artist given roughly the same amount of time to perform, give or take five to ten minutes, unless otherwise stated. The show is recorded live to two track, with as few edits as possible.
Do not hesitate to check out Mountain Stage if you are in town during one of these performances in the Capital City. The Holiday Inn can provide you with a clean, comfortable place to stay, if needed after the performance.
