Ona Speedway serves as West Virginia’s only asphalt racing track measuring 3/8 of a mile in length. Through the years the raceway has been known by multiple names including the Huntington International Speedway and Dick Clark’s International Raceway Park when it was under the ownership of the late Dick Clark. The track races three types of car classes, which consist of U-Car, Classics, and Holly Stock. Races take place every weekend through the months of April through September. However, the last weekend of each month is always scheduled off. Tickets start at $8 for general admission, up in grandstand seating area. Pit Passes are also available and usually cost around $20 for kids 13 and up, while the price drops to $10 for children between the ages of 8 and 12, and children under 7 years old get into the event absolutely free! The Pits open at 3 P.M and Hot Laps begin just a half hour later. The green flag is dropped at 7 P.M and the racing is under way for the rest of the evening.
The track is located in Ona, West Virginia, which sits halfway in between Charleston and Huntington just a few miles off the Milton exit. If you are traveling through the Charleston area on your way to the raceway, the Holiday Inn provides you with a clean and comfortable place to stop on your journey to see all the racing action.
